5. Led Zeppelin - With their heavy, guitar-driven blues-rock sound, Led Zeppelin are regularly cited as one of the founders of heavy metal and hard rock.
6. Creedence Clearwater Revival - Their musical style encompassed rock and roll and swamp rock genres.
7. The Doors - They were among the most controversial rock acts of the 1960s, due mostly to Jim Morrison’s (vocalist) wild, poetic lyrics and charismatic but unpredictable stage persona.
8. Nirvana - Nirvana entered into the mainstream, bringing along with it a subgenre of alternative rock called grunge.
9. ACDC - Are an Australian rock band. Although the band are commonly classified as hard rock and are considered a pioneer of heavy metal, they have always classified their music as rock and roll.
10. Red Hot Chili Peppers - American funk rock quartet formed in Los Angeles in 1983. Their musical style has fused traditional funk with elements of other genres including jazz fusion, punk rock, and psychedelic rock.
